Former Co-op Bank chairman charged with drug possession

Posted online
Paul Flowers, the former chairman of Co-operative Bank PLC in the United Kingdom, was charged Wednesday for drug possession, five months after he was caught on tape counting out money for an alleged drug purchase.

Flowers is charged with possessing cocaine, meth and ketamine, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Flowers shocked former colleagues and the broader British public when allegations about his drug use first appeared in the Mail on Sunday newspaper in mid-November. He was arrested a few days later and since then has regularly reported back to police as a condition of bail.
