Former McDonald's CEO Steve Easterbrook is fighting a lawsuit filed against him by the fast-food chain.
The company filed suit Aug. 10, alleging Easterbrook engaged in sexual relationships with three employees and gave a stock grant to one of the women. The company is seeking to recoup a financial package given to Easterbrook when he was fired last year.
Easterbrook's attorneys said the claims are false.
"McDonald's – a sophisticated entity represented by numerous internal and external experts when it entered into the separation agreement – is aware it cannot credibly allege a breach of contract claim," Easterbrook's attorneys wrote in a court filing. "Instead, it improperly seeks to manufacture claims for a breach of fiduciary duty or fraud."
