Forever 21 relocates inside Battlefield Mall

Apparel retailer Forever 21 is scheduled to open its new store inside Battlefield Mall this weekend.

The 15,000-square-foot space represents a relocation for the chain's Battlefield Mall store. The Los Angeles-based retailer opened in 7,008 square feet near the J.C. Penney north court in June 2006, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

Opening day activities are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. April 26, with the first 100 guests to receive a free gift card, according to a news release.

"With the relocation of our store, we are able to accommodate more brands and new concepts," Forever 21 General Merchandise Manager Linda Chang said in the release.

The new store - a former Abercrombie & Fitch at 2825 S. Glenstone Ave., Ste. S03B - would include the company's standard apparel and accessories, as well a line of plus-sized clothing, cosmetics, lingerie and shoes.

Forever 21 Inc. operates more than 550 stores in the U.S., as well as international operations.
