The Fordland Clinic is expanding to offer more dental services using $350,000 in tax credits from the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program.
The expansion – which will break ground in March and be completed by fall – will include two dental exam rooms, a sterilization room, a laboratory, a dental director’s office and the beginning shell of an additional large medical and administrative expansion that will be completed using additional tax credit funding in 2015.
“This expansion will allow us to see one-third more dental patients while only adding one dental assistant and no dental providers, which will keep our costs low," Whitney Keith, community development coordinator with the clinic, told the South County Mail.
The tax credits to fund the current addition all sold to individuals and businesses from September through December last year.
In 2013, the DED approved 14 other Missouri nonprofit organizations for a total of $3.6 million in tax credits under the NAP.
