Ford to invest $1.45B in Detroit plants

Ford Motor Co. plans to invest $1.45 billion at two plants in the Detroit metropolitan area.

The investment means the creation of 3,000 jobs.

At the plants, Ford plans to ramp up production of new pickups, SUVs, and electric and autonomous vehicles.
