Ford to hire 1,200 in Kansas City

Posted online
Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) plans to add 1,200 new jobs to its Kansas City-area assembly plant in Claycomo as it creates a second shift for the production of its Transit van.

The jobs are above and beyond the 2,800 positions the company added at the plant in 2012 and 2013 for the launch of its 2015 Transit and increased production of the Ford F-150.

The new positions will help push employment at the Kansas City plant to over 6,000 hourly workers by the end of the year, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
