Ford Motor Co. plans to add 900 new jobs at its Kansas City assembly plant in Claycomo to meet strong demand for the newly launched 2015 Ford F-150 pickup.
The Kansas City hiring plans make up the bulk of Ford's announcement of 1,550 new jobs nationwide, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
"Thanks to stronger-than-expected customer demand, we're adding 1,550 new workers to support additional F-150 production," Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, said in a release. "We sell every truck we can build, and we plan to build more."
