Ford Motor Co. is adding 2,000 jobs to its Louisville, Ky., truck plant as part of a $1.3 billion investment toward development of the next-generation Super Duty model.
The added jobs are part of 8,500 the Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker committed to create in a labor contract with the United Auto Workers union.
Ford is transitioning larger vehicles like the Super Duty pickup and the full-size Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs to aluminum from steel in order to reduce weight and improve fuel economy, according to CNNMoney.
