Ford issued a recall for more than 40,000 trucks and SUVs.
The impacted vehicles may have a headlight defect that could reduce the driver's visibility.
"The headlight assemblies may contain a contaminated LED chip, which can result in a loss of daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams or low beams," the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a recall notice.
