Ford Motor Co. announced plans to appeal a $1.7 billion verdict over a fatal crash in 2014.
A jury in Georgia found the roofs of the model in question, the 2002 Ford F-250, were defective.
"While our sympathies go out to the ... family, we do not believe the verdict is supported by the evidence, and we plan to appeal," Ford officials said in a statement.
