Ford gets Calif. OK to test self-driving cars

Ford Motor Co. announced this week it secured a permit from California to test self-driving cars on public roads.

Starting next year, the company's Ford Fusion Hybrid car will join the likes of Google and Volkswagen in testing self-driving cars.

Other carmakers approved for California testing include Honda Motor, Daimler, Mercedes Benz, Tesla Motors, Nissan Motor and BMW
