No. 1 is soccer star Lionel Messi, with earnings of roughly $130 million for the 12-month period ending May 1.
No. 2 is the NBA's Lebron James, at $121 million, followed by No. 3 Cristiano Ronaldo, another soccer player who brought in $115 million.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes earned $49.1 million to come in at No. 24.
