Forbes: Jack Henry among America’s best employers

Posted online
Forbes ranked Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) 95th on its 2017 list of the best 500 large employers.

Working with research firm Statista, Forbes developed a ranking system based on surveys of 30,000 American workers. In the surveys, Statista asked the employees how likely they were to recommend their company to friends or family, and also which organizations they’d choose outside of their own.

Monett-based financial industry software firm Jack Henry was the only company in southwest Missouri and the top in the Show-Me State on the list of large firms — defined as those with at least 5,000 workers. Jack Henry has 6,000 employees, according to its ranking.

“It has always been our mission to provide a rewarding and dynamic work environment that values employee development,” Jack Henry President and CEO David Foss said in a news release about the Forbes ranking. “We understand the powerful connection between the success and fulfillment of our employees and the overall success of our company.”

In Missouri, Jack Henry ranked ahead of:
    •    Kansas City-based Cerner, at No. 213;
    •    St. Louis-based Emerson Electric, at No. 281;
    •    Des Peres-based Edward Jones, at No. 344;
    •    Kansas City-based Hallmark Cards, at No. 345;
    •    Chesterfield-based Amdocs, at No. 426;
    •    St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch InBev, at No. 444; and
    •    St. Louis-based Ameren. at No. 482.

Issaquah, Washington-based Costco Wholesale topped Forbes’ list, followed by California’s Google and Kent, Washington-based REI.

Forbes also posted a list of America’s best midsize employers — those with 1,000 to 5,000 employees — but no southwest Missouri firms made the list.
