Foot Locker to buy 2 shoe store chains

Foot Locker Inc. signed on to buy two shoe store chains for a combined $1.1 billion.

The company is purchasing California-based WSS for $750 million and Japanese streetwear retailer Atmos for $360 million.

Company officials cited plans to expand its business beyond malls and extend its reach in Asia.
