Just over a week before Thanksgiving, a Houston, Texas, food bank was forced to throw out 1.8 million pounds of food.
A fan broke and severed a line containing ammonia that cooled three refrigerated areas. All of the food in the areas was contaminated with ammonia.
Lost was the equivalent of 62 truckloads.
