FocusTech, a new Springfield-based computer consulting firm, is partnering with Southwest Missouri State University's Computer Institute to provide information technology training, according to a news release from FocusTech.
The training will be led by FocusTech's senior consulting staff and held in the Computer Institute facilities at SMSU's Jim D. Morris Center for Continuing Education, the release stated.
Courses available through the training partnership in August and September include Windows NT 4.0 System Administration and Visual Basic 5.0 Introduction.
Windows NT 4.0 System Administration teaches the fundamentals of administering a Windows NT network, including how to administer users, groups and domains through an instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities, according to FocusTech.
Using the same learning model, the Visual Basic 5.0 Introduction will instruct programmers on the use of Visual Basic 5.0 to create professional Windows applications in a fraction of the time it takes to develop applications in older programming languages, the release stated.
In addition to the courses offered in partnership with SMSU, FocusTech offers a menu of services that live up to the firm's tag line, "We Focus on IT," IT being "information technology."
A Microsoft Solution Provider offering consulting in Microsoft BackOffice platforms, as well as technical training on Microsoft applications, FocusTech's professional services include information technology surveys, security audits, networking services, electronic commerce assistance, proposal development and project management.
Customized training is available for individual companies, and FocusTech also provides one-on-one training. The company is located at 318 Park Central East, Ste. 418.
