A Florida jury has found CNN liable in a defamation case.
The case brought by U.S. Navy veteran Zachary Young alleged CNN defamed him in a 2021 story about people paid to rescue endangered Afghans following the Taliban takeover of that country.
Young has been awarded $5 million in compensatory damages. Punitive damages were undisclosed.
