Flappy Bird lives! Developer says game is coming back in August

Forever was short-lived for game developer Dong Nguyen.

The creator of Flappy Bird pulled the game from app stores earlier this year. saying it was too addictive and the game was gone forever. Now, he's planning a re-release in August.

The Washington Post reports Nguyen said he's planning tweaks that add multiplayer functionality and make it less addictive. He didn't, however, elaborate on the specifics, so we don't yet know how he plans to water down how habit-forming it is – arguably the game's most compelling aspect.

At its peak, Flappy Bird made up to $50,000 per day in ad revenue.
