With approval from several government agencies, Moon Express Inc. is the first private company given the green light for flight to the moon.

The Silicon Valley-based company is planning its moon shot for 2017 in order to win Google’s $25 million Lunar XPrize.

Founders of the company said the trip will cost about $10 million.
