Fired Wal-Mart worker wins $31M lawsuit

A former Wal-Mart pharmacist in New Hampshire who claimed she was wrongfully terminated has received a $31 million judgment.

The employee of retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) claimed she was wrongfully fired after reporting safety concerns about co-workers dispensing prescriptions, according to the Associated Press.

Maureen McPadden, a 13-year employee, was fired in 2012 after losing her pharmacy key. The jury awarded most of the money based on gender discrimination claims. Wal-Mart denied any wrongful conduct.
