Mid-Missouri Mortgage Co. recently hired Rick Hoover as a mortgage loan officer. He has more than 10 years of mortgage experience, working most recently in Las Vegas and Chicago.

James M. Lewis of Kirkpatrick, Phillips & Miller CPAs earned the Personal Financial Specialist credential from The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The PFS credential recognizes CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning. Lewis passed a technical exam covering personal financial planning topics.

Ozark Mountain Bank announced two staff appointments. Cindy Zieman was appointed assistant vice president of compliance for the bank. Zieman has been with Ozark Mountain Bank since 1985, starting as a file clerk and safe deposit attendant. She is a graduate of the American Bankers Association National Compliance School at the University of Oklahoma in Norman.

Cathy Ponder was appointed vice president of real estate lending for Ozark Mountain Bank. Ponder has been with the bank since 1988, starting out as a loan secretary. She is a graduate of the Consumer Lending School at the University of Oklahoma.

Tony Shalloup joined Regions Bank as vice president and private banker for the Springfield region. He recently retired from City Utilities, where he held management positions in marketing and community relations, and information systems. In his new position with Regions, Shalloup works with mid-sized companies to manage their professional banking relationships and develops relationships in the medical and private sectors of the community.

Steven B. Young, principal of Steven Young Financial Planning, and Michael A. Babcock, principal of Michael A. Babcock, CPA, PC, attended the fifth annual Pathways to Success Retreat hosted by the Garrett Planning Network. The event was held Aug. 4–7 at the Sheraton Hotel Convention Center in Overland Park, Kan.

Young served as a panelist in the closing Share the Wisdom session of the event.

Carter M. Peters was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of Guaranty Federal Bancshares Inc. Peters was previously employed by Southern Missouri Bank in Marshfield, where he served as chief financial officer for two years.

Doug Thornsberry joined Village Bank as senior vice president, specializing in commercial lending. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of business administration degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Thornsberry has 14 years of experience in banking.

Jason A. Corson was promoted to senior financial analyst of BKD Corporate Finance LLC. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Missouri State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance. As a senior financial analyst, Corson analyzes company and industry financial and marketing data used by clients interested in mergers, acquisitions or divestitures, or by those seeking debt and equity financing.

Courtney Brown, Sherry Williams, Matthew Solidum, and Matthew Bright were all promoted to senior accountants at Elliott, Robinson & Co. All four are graduates of Missouri State University and have been with the firm for four years.

Virginia-based HomeTown Bank has joined the client roster of Monett-based Jack Henry & Associates. HomeTown Bank is outsourcing its information processing to Jack Henry and implementing numerous Jack Henry products, including CIF 20/20, Synergy Intelligent Document Management and the Select Payment enterprise payment processing platform.
