Fertilizer prices spike amid war in Iran

Farmers are being hit hard by the war in Iran, according to a report by CNN.

Higher costs for fertilizer and energy are adding up on top of last year’s tariffs.

One-third of the world’s fertilizer passes through the Strait of Hormuz, along with one-fifth of the world’s oil.

While most fertilizer used on U.S. farms is made in North America, rising natural gas is increasing the cost of domestic-made fertilizer as well.
