Ferguson shooting prompts flurry of proposed legislation

As Missouri lawmakers prepare to convene on Wednesday for their annual session, about three dozen bills stemming from the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson already have been filed.

Among issues raised in the bills are when police can use deadly force, mandates for cops to wear video cameras and whether special prosecutors should be appointed to handle police killings, according to The Associated Press.

"We've got a new set of issues that I think are more pressing now after everything that's happened in Ferguson," incoming House Majority Leader Todd Richardson, R-Poplar Bluff, said. "I anticipate a lot of conversation about that."
