Female libido pill maker Sprout purchased for $1B

Two days after Sprout Pharmaceuticals won federal approval for its female libido pill, the company is being bought by Valeant Pharmaceuticals for $1 billion.

On Tuesday, Sprout received Food and Drug Administration approval for Addyi, aka "female Viagra," but with a warning about potentially dangerous low blood pressure and fainting side effects.

According to CNNMoney, Sprout expects to release Addyi to the market Oct. 17.
