The Federal Emergency Management Agency is providing at least $63 million to help the city of St. Louis remove debris from the May tornado.
The office of U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Missouri, who sent a letter to FEMA in August requesting the assistance, noted the federal agency's total estimate for debris removal is at least $180 million.
The Missouri General Assembly allocated $100 million in state funding for the cleanup work this summer.
