City and business leaders joined FedEx officials for a groundbreaking ceremony on the project’s 54-acre site in Partnership Industrial Center West.
The 154-door, 100,000-square-foot service center will boost FedEx’s local loading capacity by about 60 percent, according to previous Springfield Business Journal coverage. Barring weather delays, 200 FedEx employees should be able to move there from the company’s existing 2229 N. Lurvey Ave. location in the spring.
