FedEx predicting record-breaking holiday season

Posted online
FedEx Corp. is predicting a 12 percent jump in shipments between Black Friday and Christmas Eve will lead to a record-breaking holiday season for the global shipping company.

The Memphis, Tenn.- based company expects to move 317 million shipments and targets three weeks – Cyber Monday and the first two Mondays in December – as key periods for doubling volume.

According to Fortune, forecasters are predicting a lower overall increase in holiday sales between 3.5 percent and 4 percent, but e-commerce may see as much as an 8 percent boost in 2015. The National Retail Foundation estimates online sales could reach $105 billion.
