FedEx grant contest runs through Feb. 9

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) again is running its nationwide small-business grant contest in 2014, according to the Memphis Business Journal.

The grant contest, which will award a total of $50,000 to 10 small businesses across the U.S., runs through Feb. 9. The grand prize winner will receive $25,000, while four companies will be awarded $5,000 and five firms will be selected to receive $1,000 apiece.

To be eligible, the prospective businesses must employ fewer than 100 people and be based in the U.S. Winners will be chosen based, in part, by votes from Facebook users.
