A federal judge yesterday ruled against the planned merger of rivals Staples Inc. and Office Depot Inc.
In siding with the Federal Trade Commission, U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan said the combination of the office supply retailers would lead to higher prices for large corporations that buy office supplies in bulk.
In response, the companies called off the $6 billion deal.
A relocation to Nixa from Republic and a rebranding occurred for Aspen Elevated Health; Kuick Noodles LLC opened; and Phelps County Bank launched a new southwest Springfield branch.
