U.S. District Judge Richard Andrews has ordered Walgreens to pay more than $987 million to satisfy an arbitration award won by telemedicine provider PWNHealth, Reuters reports.
The companies have been embroiled in a contract dispute over COVID-19 testing. PWNHealth alleges the agreement was broken when Walgreens switched to in-housing testing but continued to use PWNHealth's branding online.
Walgreens officials said they would appeal the decision, which they called excessive.
