Federal government close to new virus aid deal

Democrats and the Trump administration reportedly are nearing an agreement that would provide more funding for the tapped-out small-business aid program.

The funding package, designed to help small businesses weather the COVID-19 crisis, could be as large as $500 billion.

The Paycheck Protection Program for small businesses ran through its $349 billion in funding.
