The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced it would keep interest rates steady.
The benchmark federal funds rate is unchanged at 3.5% to 3.75%.
The Federal Open Market Committee pointed to an economy "expanding at a solid pace." The FOMC's statement also noted that "job gains have remained low, and the unemployment rate has shown some signs of stabilization. Inflation remains somewhat elevated."
