FDA seizes smallpox vaccine from clinic

The Food and Drug Administration announced yesterday it seized five vials of smallpox vaccine from a San Diego clinic.

The FDA alleges the clinic run by StemImmune Inc. used the vaccine on cancer patients without proof that it worked.

"We look forward to continuing our dialogue with the FDA as we seek to bring this important cancer therapy to cancer patients," the company said in a brief statement.
