FDA authorizes boosters for people with weakened immune systems

The Food and Drug Administration authorized COVID-19 booster shots for people with weakened immune systems.

"Today's action allows doctors to boost immunity in certain immunocompromised individuals who need extra protection from COVID-19," said Dr. Janet Woodcock, acting FDA commissioner.

The list of eligible people includes organ transplant recipients.
