The Food and Drug Administration yesterday approved Gilead Sciences' antiviral drug remdesivir as a coronavirus treatment.
The drug has helped shorten the recovery time for some COVID-19 patients. It was one of the treatments used for President Donald Trump when he contracted the virus.
Remdesivir becomes the first and only fully approved treatment for COVID-19 in the United States.
