FCC imposes $2M fine against NYC pirate radio station

The Federal Communications Commission is imposing a more than $2 million fine on a 15-year-old pirate radio station in New York City.

The FCC utilized the Preventing Illegal Radio Abuse Through Enforcement Act passed by Congress in 2022.

The station, Impacto 2, broadcasts Ecuadorian news, culture, sports and talk radio.
