FCC expected to repeal 'net neutrality' rules

The Federal Communications Commission is expected to vote along party lines today to repeal "net neutrality" rules.

The rules put in place in 2015 prohibit cable and telecom companies from blocking or slowing down any websites or apps. They also stop broadband providers from engaging in deals that give some websites or apps special treatment.

Advocates of net neutrality are expected to challenge the FCC decision via lawsuits and congressional work.
