Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai on Monday voiced "serious concerns" about the proposed $3.9 billion tie-up of Sinclair Broadcast Group and Tribune Media.
"The evidence we’ve received suggests that certain station divestitures that have been proposed to the FCC would allow Sinclair to control those stations in practice, even if not in name, in violation of the law," Pai said of actions taken to get the deal approved.
Paid said he would propose sending the deal for review to an administrative law judge, which could mean he intends to kill the deal, according to The Hill.
