FCC approves AT&T's purchase of Leap Wireless

The Federal Communications Commission has approved AT&T's acquisition of Leap Wireless, the company that operates the popular Cricket brand of prepaid wireless service.

The Verge reports AT&T has addressed concerns voiced by the FCC that the deal would harm the public interest.

The deal gives AT&T 5 million new customers, the article said.
