FBI may have found a way into terrorist's iPhone

A courtroom appearance scheduled today featuring the U.S. Department of Justice and Apple has been postponed.

The DOJ requested the postponement, saying the FBI may have found an alternative way into iPhone used by Syed Farook, the gunman in the San Bernardino, Calif., shooting.

Apple has refused to help the federal government hack into the iPhone.

"On Sunday, March 20, 2016, an outside party demonstrated to the FBI a possible method for unlocking Farook's iPhone. If the method is viable, it should eliminate the need for the assistance from Apple Inc.," a court document reads.
