FBI indicts CEOs, COOs in $1.2B telemarketing scam

The FBI indicted 24 people, including CEOs and chief operating officers, in a fraud scheme.

Several executives at five telemedicine companies and owners of dozens of durable medical equipment businesses are among those charged for allegedly running a scheme that resulted in more than $1.2 billion in losses. The scam targeted Medicare recipients.

The defendants allegedly paid doctors to prescribe medical equipment with little or no patient interaction.
