An FBI investigation found a recent incident in which a noose was found in NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace’s garage stall was not a hate crime.
The investigation concluded the noose had been in the stall since at least October 2019. Officials believe it was used as a door pull.
Wallace, the only Black driver racing full time in NASCAR, led calls to remove Confederate flags at league events.
