'Fate of the Furious' laps new films at box office

"The Fate of the Furious" again held first place at the box office over the weekend.

At $38.7 million, the eighth installment in "The Fast and the Furious" franchise beat new thriller "Unforgettable" and historical drama "The Promise."

This week, the film is expected to cross $1 billion globally.
