Farmers to donate 54K eggs to Ozarks Food Harvest

Posted online
A group of farmers from across the nation, including the Neosho operations of California-based Moark LLC, will on Aug. 22 donate 54,000 eggs to Ozarks Food Harvest for distribution across its 28-county service area, including more than 20 distribution points in the Joplin area.

On Aug. 20, officials from the American Egg Board will present a free community breakfast for Joplin tornado victims at the Missouri Southern State University student center, according to a news release from Ozarks Food Harvest.

The donations are a part of the Good Egg Project, a national education and hunger relief effort established by the American Egg Board.

The American Egg Board, which is chosen by the U.S. secretary of Agriculture, is an advocacy group for egg producers across the country.

Ozarks Food Harvest aids roughly 20,000 individuals a week, distributes about 1 million pounds of food a month and has set up several long-term relief sites in Joplin.[[In-content Ad]]
