The husband-and-wife owners of Farmers Gastropub are launching a new venture in Farmers Park.

Called JW’s Kitchen, the brunch restaurant is scheduled to open in November, according to a news release. Co-owner Misty Hampshire said via email the venture is taking over the recently vacated Progress space.

Misty Hampshire will operate JW’s Kitchen with her husband, Andy, who together purchased Farmers Gastropub in 2015. Misty Hampshire said JW’s Kitchen is named after the couple’s grandmothers.

"Brunch is a special time when people come together to enjoy great food, connect and create lasting memories," Andy Hampshire said in the release. "We want to elevate that experience by crafting a diverse and exciting brunch menu that appeals to a wide range of tastes and preferences. We plan to highlight dishes we grew up eating, so you will see lots of different things on the menu at JW’s."

Misty Hampshire said the couple signed a five-year lease with the option to renew for another five years at Farmers Park for undisclosed terms.

JW's Kitchen plans to offer brunch items like biscuits and gravy, waffles and egg dishes. Operating hours are scheduled 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Progress closed last month after opening in Farmers Park in October 2018. The restaurant filled 4,800 square feet previously operated by Metropolitan Farmer, according to past reporting.

Former Progress co-owner Daniel Ernce recently announced on Instagram he took a job as head chef at Conifer in Bentonville, Arkansas.
