Pellham Phillips Hagerman Architects & Engineers is architect for Zhongdu Square, which is located in Hangzhou, Zhe Jiang Province, Peoples Republic of China. Owned by Hangzhou Shunchang Real Estate Co. Ltd., the 3,083-square-meter project will be a major outdoor shopping mall and tourist destination for Hangzhou, which is a suburb of Shanghai in China. PPH's role in the project includes the design of the urban landscape and building facades. High-rise apartment buildings that will form the square are already under construction. An ancient well is being incorporated into the square as well as water features, a stage, a food court and landscaped areas. Western-style architecture, materials and suburban mall concepts will be employed. The engineer is Guang Zhou Jiuzhou Architectural Design Institute. An estimated cost is not available.
