Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. is architect of record for Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Las Vegas for owner/developer Silverton Casino. Bass Pro Shops Design & Development is design architect. Larson Binkley Inc. of Leawood, Kan., is mechanical engineer; B&R Construction Services of Glen Burie, Md., is electrical engineer; and Ensar Group of Boulder, Colo., is daylighting/energy consultant. The structure is slated to open in fall 2004. Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Las Vegas will be attached to the Silverton Hotel & Casino, and it will include a full line of outdoor sporting goods and retail merchandise. One unique feature of the structure is its use of daylight through diffused skylights to provide light for the retail space. Butler, Rosenbury is leading the team in the use of daylight to provide a solution that connects to the outdoors, reduces energy costs and improves indoor air quality. It is part of an overall effort by Bass Pro Shops to work toward buildings that provide an exciting retail environment, are more energy efficient and have a better return on investment.
