Affinis Corp. is engineer for roadway improvements along Route 76 for the city of Branson and the Missouri Department of Transportation. The project, with an estimated cost of $1.9 million, has an estimated completion date of 2005. Branson selected Affinis to provide improvements to Route 76, which includes three intersections. Affinis engineers completed a comprehensive transportation plan in 2001 for the city. Recommendations from the plan included both short- and long-term improvements. One of the short-term improvements was the addition of turn lanes and widening of Route 76 in the vicinity of the U.S. 65 northbound and southbound offramps and at Roark Valley Road. The design team is beginning the preliminary design for the improvements, which include widening Route 76 from four lanes to five lanes east of Roark Valley Road; adding an exclusive right-turn lane to southbound Route 65 exit ramp; adding an additional left-turn lane and an exclusive right-turn lane to the northbound Route 65 exit ramp; and adding an additional left-turn lane to Roark Valley Road at Route 76.
