By default, Google Chrome opens PDF files inside the browser. This has been known to cause errors, such as pages not loading, for Springfield Business Journal's Early Friday Digital Edition files. Here are two quick remedies for this problem:
Fix 1:
After clicking on the PDF link on the Early Friday Digital Edition e-mail, a "download now" link will appear in your browser. Simply right click on the link, select "save link as" and choose a location on your computer. For Mac users, hold the command key and then click on the link to achieve the same effect.
Fix 2:
This fix was found on
Adobe's Web site.
- Type "chrome://plugins" into the browser's address bar, without the quotation marks.
- Click the Disable link next to Chrome PDF Viewer.
This fix forces the Chrome browser to download the file to your computer rather than open it within the browser. Please note that with this fix, all PDF documents you attempt to open will now download to your computer rather than inside your browser. To change back to default settings, follow the same directions, this time clicking Enable next to Chrome PDF Viewer.
