The “Medicare Insurance Fair … Find a PLAN that Works for You” is 9 a.m.–4 p.m. at the South Side Senior Center, 2215 S. Fremont.
Insurance providers for 10 plans that offer stand-alone Part D coverage and five plans that also cover parts A and B will be on hand. The Social Security Administration and TriCare also will be represented.
Providers will answer questions about plan costs, what prescription drugs are included and which pharmacies are participating, said June Huff, director of special products at the Southwest Missouri Office on Aging, which also will have a booth at the fair.
“We’d been getting numerous calls from seniors really wanting to get the specifics about what these plans have to offer, and we thought they ought to get it directly from the companies that are selling the plans,” she said.
Anyone interested in attended is recommended to bring a list of the drugs they are taking and whether they want them delivered at the pharmacy or by mail.
Enrollment for Part D coverage begins Nov. 15 and benefits begin Jan. 1.
Refreshments and parking with shuttle service will be available.
